Each spring the theatre company brings William Shakespeare's plays to the Brentwood Theatre in an affordable and welcoming setting. In 2013, the Brentwood Shakespeare Company performed its latest production, Julius Caesar.

The theatre company is run by a management committee and it does not feature a company of actors. As a result, open auditions are held each year to maintain fresh performances and provide local talent with opportunities to perform and develop their talents. The Brentwood Shakespeare Company produces one performance annually, with productions typically held at the Brentwood Theatre in April or May.
History
Founded in 1994, the theatre company strives to bring Shakespeare's works and theatrical productions at the highest of standards to local audiences. As its name implies, the company concentrates on the works of William Shakespeare. Recent productions by the Brentwood Shakespeare Company have included performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Merchant of Venice, Richard III, The Taming of the Shrew, and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Venue Information
Brentwood Theatre is the home venue of the Brentwood Shakespeare Company. The theatre was purpose-built to serve as a professional venue for dozens of local non-professional performing arts groups, including dance, drama and musical performers. Built in 1993, the theatre's first patron is Brentwood-born actor Stephen Moyer, the main star of HBO's True Blood. The subtle facility is owned and operated by Brentwood Theatre Trust, a registered charity, and is supported by mainly volunteers. The Brentwood Theatre is one of the community's main cultural attractions and venues.
The auditorium at the Brentwood Theatre may be configured in various formats, depending on production needs. The theatre accommodates up to 176 seats. In a three sided format around a central stage, the auditorium seats up to 130 spectators. With a single block of front-on seating, the modern auditorium seats 96 theatregoers. In addition to flexible seating and staging, the venue features high-quality lighting and sound. The auditorium also features seating for patrons with disabilities.
Location
Located on 15 Shenfield Road in Brentwood, the Brentwood Theatre is easily accessible from the town centre. Visitors to Brentwood may access the town centre via A1023 via Junction 28 of the M25 motorway. The Brentwood Theatre is located between the Brentwood and Shenfield rail stations, which are approximately a 15 minute walk from the theatre. Taxis are available between the stations and the theatre. Free parking is available for disabled guests adjacent to the theatre. Additional parking is found along nearby streets and public car parks, including William Hunter Way.
